Season Over

'We did our part, its a shame Bonkers didn't do theirs' said a rather downbeat HH following a good away victory against Los Samgeles Kings, 'Bonkers couldn't do their part to help us, but of course if they weren't a team of heartless nobodies they would have won the title with games to spare.'

Winning 1-2 away to LSK was not enough to see The Lone Wanderers go into the last match with nothing to play for. 3rd place is out of reach, but it could have been reached had results gone their way.

HH was quick to take the blame for the defeat and pass it onto his players:'We have to have somebody to take the flak for this, however I will be man enough to take it. But my players must be equally as keen to admit that they had a major part to play in our downfall. We dropped too many points against the teams around us which was evidently our undoing. Simply put... I feel the players underperformed and that we have a lot of rebuilding to do for the start of next season.'

So ends the journey of a season which has promised so much, but will ultimately bear so little for The Lone Wanderers, will they be back stronger next season, or will they wilt under the pressure to achieve promotion for a second season running?
