Third Time Lucky for the Amateurs

Yorkshire Amateurs scored their first goal of the season and in the process secured all 3 points against FC Greatness. Greatness went into the match with a 100% record from their opening two games and early on they looked most likely to break the deadlock. The Amateurs defence was resolute and it would be they who opened the scoring with a wonderfully worked set piece move, Abraham Alejo on hand to apply the finishing touch.

The game wasn’t a particularly pretty one to watch, with chances at a premium and the Amateurs having to deal with the loss of their star striker Amadeo Caviedes to a nasty looking injury that will keep him out for a number of weeks.Amateurs manager Danlufc13 could have done without an injury to any of his strikers as their lack of goals is already starting to be a problem.Defensively sound, having only conceded two goals in their opening three games the worry is concerned around the fact they have only scored once in their opening three games and that came from a set piece.

They next face TotaalVoetbal in a game that will surely be another tight encounter between these two great rivals.
