Amateurs Suffer Opening Day Defeat

Yorkshire Amateurs can consider themselves unfortunate to leave the San Siro pointless after an encouraging display against AC Milan.

The Amateurs have been very quiet in the transfer market with only goalkeeper Antunes Bianco signing in the close season as funds remain tight at The Thorp Arches. The first half saw The Amateurs create nothing as they paid the price for a sluggish start by conceding a 25th minute goal.

The second half saw them come out a different side with Ritchie Hindle in the Milan goal looking particularly impressive as he saw off wave after wave of Amateurs pressure. The Amateurs know they must pick up something in their next game against new boys Three Lions FC to ensure their season does not start on the worst possible footing.
