Reports for rounds 1,2,3 and 4

Viking Land News

These will be short versions of my usual match reports in order to get back uptodate!

Pahang United 0 - 1 The Vikings

A tight game that the away side maybe just deserved to win for creating more chances. The only goal of the game came in the 56th minute when Clint Bonavia headed home a Gourmas cross. This was to be enough for the Vikings to secure the 3 points as they only allowed the home side 2 chances in the entire game.

The Vikings 2 - 0 Newry City

Another tight game that saw the Vikings gain another early 3 points in the fight for promotion. Home advantage was probably the key as first new signing Ilmari Jukka got his first goal for the club after 22 minutes. Portway then secured the victory in the 89th minute when he headed home a cross from Strachan.

Kirkbride Strollers 2 - 0 The Vikings

Kirkbride used home advantage to gain a win in another tight game. Their task was made easier after just 4 minutes when Symington sent home a special freekick. Billy Maneater then secured victory in the 58th minute when he shot home from a corner. The game was especially bad for the Vikings as Colin Crouch was stretchered off with a serious injury.

The Vikings 3 - 0 Belly Tubbies

The Vikings bounced back from their last defeat with a comfortable home victory against Belly Tubbies. Papakostas opened the scoring after 32 minutes and then Bonavia made the points safe with a goal on 72 minutes. The icing was put on the victory when Maladenis shot home from distance in the 94th minute.
