Viking Land News
Man Utd continue their stranglehold over the Vikings.
The Vikings seem totally unable to work out how to get results against Man Utd. In reality this was a one sided game in which the Vikings rarely threatened.
The games first chance fell to Man Utd when Ronaldo's 17th minute freekick cannoned back off a post. This was to be his last involvement in the game as he was taken off with a serious looking injury in the 22nd minute. The change did not seem to affect Man Utd and Carrick saw a 24th minute lob hit the bar. Carrick then headed straight at the keeper on 42 minutes when well placed. 0-0 half time
The vikings then lost their main midfielder early in the second half when Tassiopoulos limped off. They then had their only chance of the game when Almandis sent a 51st minute freekick well wide. Man Utd then got the goal that they probably deserved when Cantona chipped Raasch on 71 minutes after good work by Berbatov. Carrick then sealed the points with a 75th minute header. The same player saw a 76th minute header saved as Man Utd saw out the rest of the game with no problems.
Eaglesrjh was reflective after the game. "we always seem to have problems against Man Utd, but credit to them they are a very good team and not many teams will come here and take points home so it's not a disaster. We must bounce back and play better in the next game against St.Omer"
