A History of Carthage FC

With the new season being created tomorrow, we take a quick look back at the history of Carthage FC from it's creation way back in season 2.

The Background - Day 1
Carthage FC was founded on the 28th December 2008 and was first called Lonsdale FC by a manager called Mcneilis, the manager however soon left 2 weeks later in some kind of sick joke. Lonsdale had been a mockery, and the club was shamed, someone needed to tell Mcneilis that a football club is for life, Not just for Christmas. Enter Blakey0500 a 'messiah' according to some legendary tales, a 'saviour' in others. Whoever this Blakey0500 was at the time. He was deemed my most as the unknown prospect....

...and so the story began.

Season 2 - 13th January 2009 - Pre Season.
Day 1 of Blakeys reign began, the team previously known as Lonsdale were reformed and reincarnated as Carthage FC, and as of this day, everything changed.

The club started life at the very bottom, division 3, with little prospects of promotion with a weak squad. However there was one little bright spark. A certain 17 year old with an incredible talent for football and his name was Emmanuel Edgehill, a true young talent of the old school days. In order for the club to progress this fine talent was sold for 17 000 004 econ which still to this day is a record that hasn't been broken. From here two veterans joined the fray Hannibal Barca and Marcus Spillane together with some great youths.

From here Carthage FC posed a threat, they finished 5th in their first season, and with the division shake up this earnt them a promotion into season 2, perhaps a little too soon for the team.

Season 3 - The Dark Ages
Season 3 began, and the team was still developing, even with 2 great talents, Blakey0500's side entered the dark ages of Carthage's history, the team was feeble and weak and finished 10th/12.

This meant one thing....

Relegation.

Blakey0500 was shamed as a manager. The team had gone backwards and were clearly not ready..

Season 4 - Hope
Times were changing in season 4, old greats were falling, previous champions were dwindling and one thing was certain. Carthage FC were finally ready. Oh boy were they ready and more determined than ever, Blakey0500 declared that he would take no prisoners, and so it was.

The season went on and no-one could stop them, victory after victory, that any Carthaginian would be proud of and in the end, the team prevailed. They had stormed to 1st position and were declared champions. That is when the legend was born, and the unknown became the known.

Season 5 - The Golden Age
With Carthage now promoted to Division 2, they maintained their momentum, the squad developed and they were impressive finishing 2nd place and promoted to Div 1

Was this success all too soon? Was the team strong enough for Div 1? Where would it all end? Some of the questions that have been left unanswered and merely carried on in legends.

Season 6 - The Waiting Game
Blakey0500 entered a period of patience, slowly building up his side, slowly catching up with his rivals with every change report. Season 6 proved the toughest challenge yet for Carthage FC, they finished 9th narrowly surviving relegation.

Blakey0500 patiently bided his time.

Season 7 - Battle Formations
This season marked the full intent of Carthage's ambition, going against some of the strongest sides to date, the all time greats of the football world, Blakey0500 pushed on, throwing everything they had at their rivals, however it wasn't to be enough and eventually they slipped away and narrowly missed out on promotion, finishing 4th.

All was not lost however, Carthage had been pushing and pushing slowly climbing up the tables. Never really setting the footballing world alight but gradually getting closer to the best teams of the past and this leads us to the present.

Season 8 - Let Slip the Dogs of War
2nd August 2010 - present day.

Carthage FC and Blakey0500 now enter season 8 after 6 seasons in charge. The team have have replicated their first season by selling their exceptional youth talent for 12 200 000 econ and are again bringing in 2 veteran stars to improve the team. The side have slowly progressed from the bottom of Division 3 and now fully expect promotion to the Premiership. The team have caught up with all the rival teams and at the start of the season will be guaranteed to have the Highest squad value of any team, and one of the strongest teams ever seen in the RMI. A worthy challenger to any team.

Blakey0500 has dedicated 6 seasons of hard graft to get this team to be the best. What was once an unloved joke of a team that nobody had heard of are now a fully flourishing side.

Legends say that Blakey0500 had it all planned from the beginning, others say that he made it up as he went along, but one thing that we don't need ancient legends to tell us, is that Carthage are top dog now and who knows what success is just round the corner.
