Gooners got off to a cracking start against the Cats, a 1 - 4 away win was more than FMR could have ever expected. Busquets stole the show and the match ball scoring his first hatrick in a Gooners shirt, many fans questioned the signing last season... when Busquets failed to make an impact on a title winning season. Today though he showed he has everything in his locker and some!
He was not the only young talent attracting attention as Overmars and the ever impressive Fabregas made their presence felt in midfield also (with Cesc grabbing a goal himself). FMR obviously thinks that young Cesc is ready to take on alot more responcibility and decided to play him in the attacking role, and the young lad loved every minute of it. Everyone put in a decent performance bar Seaman and you have to wonder how long it will be before Akinfeev gets a crack at the number one shirt.
The Gunners looked fantastic today, and that was not only because of their new strips... they were given plenty of time and space to play and made very good use of it. Something that FMR knows will be harder to come by in their next game against the men in Orange.
FMR had this to say:
"It's fantastic, and thats just being here.. just to be one of the teams chasing the elusive RMI cup is an honor, there are some fantastic teams and managers in this division and we are just happy to be part of that.
Today was a fantastic result for us as looking at our next few games, it was important to keep the form levels high and mauintain a nice average throughout the team. Losing would have meant all the money we spent during pre season was wasted and already our change report would have been looking very bleak. The outcome form wise couldnt have been anymore perfect and every player either held or went up in form... averages are very high!
As for the game itself, it was nice to see the young lads put in a shift and take some pressure off the more established guys. Just the fact the likes of Cesc and Overmars were really up for it.. is fantastic news! Talking of pressure we knew Henry would be marked and played him in the hope of giving Busquets more space in which to play... obviously after last season it was a lot of responcibilty for the lad but.. he handled it admirably an looks a lot more settled now. His record at Bristol speaks for itself and for a player like this with his qualities he needs to be fully settled in the team, the time and effort spent on such a player will be worth it in the long run.
Next are the men in Orange and we feel we have an advantage... we have everything to gain and not a lot to lose.. we are not expected to win therefore the pressure is on them to get the result at their place. In all honesty I would have preferred the Santos fixture next and I hope we maintain enough form for that fixture... after we play Totaal. As always I will leave no stone unturned in finding a way to give us at least a chance but then its down to the players to make the most of those chances.
These are very tasty fixtures over the next few weeks and it is an exciting time for us... as always we are here to just enjoy what we do. It's good to be back to business and other results that interested me around the league were Anime, Strollers and Bristol.."
