Going into Anime Allstars latest test they faced the league leaders in the form of Juventus in the reverse fixture, it has been a hard draw to play the top 2 teams twice over in 6 matches. However only after the third match have the plucky Anime team suffered their first defeat to a team from the top 2. Confused ? i know i am so lets look back at how Anime fell victim to the run away express train better known as Juventus, oh and a ref who cannot tell the time !
Luck sometimes can play a big role in a game of football and Anime knew they would need a slice of good luck if they were to see off the title favourites for Division 3. The first half was a dull afair, Anime sat deeper than a sea dwelling creature and prevented the traverling Juventus a single effort on goal for the entire first half. Their facial expressions comming off at half time said it all. Just after the re-start and defender ace Mai Tokiha limped off her match was over, manager joshy showed great concern for his fallen defender. on the 64th minute Li Hiroi lobbed John Sapienza to give Juventus a much deserved lead but the celebrations were cut short when the ref ruled out the goal for handball. Anime's preys had been asnwered and they got their slice of luck. The clocked ticked down and Anime wasted their only 2 efforts on goal. Time added on ticked away and Anime were on the verge of winning another point. Cue the drama for in the 94rd minute Anime's luck had run out. Li Hiroi was mocked after his 64th minute strike was rulled out home fans gave the unfortunate player a roasting in verbal abuse but the last laugh would be his. Li Hiroi's thunderious strike rippled the net and Anime were undone. 0-1 swiftly arrived and several Anime Allstars heads dropped, the side had come so close but failed at the death. Joshy had this to say...
" We were holding them out well for a large portion of the match our dull and defensive tatic was working. In the second half we had 2 chances to cause an upset but failed to do so and deep into time added on we payed the ultimate price. On reflection perhaps Juventus deserved the win but never the less coming so close and yet so far and loosing on the 94th minute is a bitter pill to swallow. The only question i am left with is where on earth did the ref find 4 minutes from we barely created efforts on goal let alone merit 4 minutes of injury time. Its a shame that we got punished in such a matter but we just move on the games are rolling in thick and fast now and they don't get any easier. Up next we face a tricky away trip to PSV who are hot on the heels of Juventus. They know we will come prepared and know how we play, i feel this match will be a battle of tatics just as much as it will be a game of football. All i know is we have the tools and the players to give PSV a headache or two.
In other news i have herd, yet to be confirmed that the league will under go another FA admin change, this time RDCM will take over in the hot seat. If this plans out to be true i wish him the very best and feel he can be the right man for the right job, hopefully he can buy the refs from this league set up new watches ? Im sure my loyal supporters will agree with me here ! "
