Going into Anime's latest match spirits were high following a string of decent results. In the reverse fixture Alsancak F.C were lucky to get a point from the match as they needed a 90th minute penalty to level the match. Going into this match Alsancak F.C had one their last 6 matches in a row, as for Anime they had only lost one of their 7 previous matches which included home and away visits to Juventus and PSV.
Anime had their work cut out and the match itself proved to be another tatical battle and in the first half both teams were able to produce just the single effort on goal as it finished 0-0 at half time. The second half would see Naru Narusegawa limp off on the 57th minute. The game became a deadlock as both sides showed a great defensive display, Alsancak F.C had just the once chance in the second half which they wasted. Anime the visitors were able to create another two more chances on goal but failed to convert them and the match finished 0-0. Joshy had this to say...
" It was a solid display and we fully deserve our point. Alsancak F.C were on a roll and i was concerned this game might slip past us but we were good value for money today. Once again we have stopped another team on a run our last victims were Juventus we are fast becoming the thorn of this league for quite a few managers as we are hard to break down. We have only lost 3 times all season and won the silly season cup with our defensive record. Up next we face new outfit Steaua Needarest and we have no idea what to expect all we know is the former club was a tricky place to go to so we will take nothing for granted. "
