After thumping White Hawk 3 -0 at home with a weakened squad the Gooners boss was being cagey about his teams title ambitions and keeping the entire clubs feet firmly planted on the ground. It was a emphatic victory with Gooners seeing eleven chances on goal and keepeing another clean sheet but, with a extremly tough run in towards the seasons climax the boss was far from smiling.
It was a one sided affair but Gooners didnt manage to capitalize until the 55th minute, mainly due to another poor performance from Busquets, in fairness he found the space and right positions... but is yet to find the confidence required to do the damage required. Bergkamp was the player to settle the Gooners nerves, back on freekick duties due to Borja's injury, he again showed why FMRealism rates him as the best player in the RMI. The game was all but over when White Hawks cracked under the constant pressure and found their own net and Overmars made sure in the 87th minute by bagging his first in a Gooners shirt.
FMRealism had this to say, after his 7th successive win:
"It's nice to pick up my 8th manager of the round award, I guess it is always nice to have confirmation that your doing things correctly.. although I doubt I will be picking up many more this season. Having said that if we were to win the division I guess we might be due one for each of the rounds to come. What I mean by that is every fixture bar one will be a cup final game and we need everything to go our way to come out on top. Obviously the win was vital to us, but at the same time it just gives hope to every team we are about to face making the task seem that much harder.
Going into the Carthage fixture I wanted to see a little more from upfront if I am totally honest, Busquets is a player that we are about to see alot more of and why there is no denying his potential.. if we are to be successful some of that potential needs to be realised in the final few games of this season. It was nice to see Overmars grabbing his first and in fairness he has contributed well to the season so far, but we were hoping Borja might return for the next game but sadly it is not to be. Training has been good but I think it is advantage Carthage in the next game and it will need something special to take all three points. The lads have been terrific and theres not much more we could have done this season to make the gap between ourselves and Greatness any larger considering, but I think it is a massive ask to remain top of the table for the remainder of the season.
Obviously we will give it our best and we look in good shape, the sale of Vermaelen will allow us to keep form high, Borja will return for the Greatness fixture and will be a huge boost to our promotion hopes... maybe there are still some twists that may go in our favor but I think we may find ourselves chasing Greatness again in all honesty. We will continue to take each game as it comes and reassess the situation on that basis. I do however feel confident we will finish in the top three and for sure we will be stronger next season."
