Heads Up Yorkies Defeat Cats

Yorkshires Amateurs twice came from behind to throw the title race wide open by defeating ThunderCats F.C 3-2. Isaac Rafferty had given the Cats a first-half lead when leaping highest from a corner. It was a short-lived one though as the Amateurs got their first of three headed goals. Julian Partridge doing the damage from a corner delivered by the magnificent Vince Brightwell. The game continued to to-and-fro as Izet Hadzic nodded the visitors back in front after 68 minutes. Yorkshires Amateurs were to show plenty of fighting spirit as first a header from Murray Davis levelled matters before a Yogender Amarparm effort stunned the leaders. Despite the victory Danlufc had his thoughts on bigger things as he continues to mould his side, "consistency is the key" being the main message to a side on the up and up.

Totaalvoetbal moved to within a point of the leaders when they returned from Scotlands Shame with three points. Abbas Erol and Shirsh Vajpayee had looked to put the visitors in complete control before a late wobble nearly cost them dear. A cracking free-kick from Craig Elliston brought the Hun Haters back to life before Ted Caird fluffed his lines from the spot to gift the Dutch three points. Robin Meeblind was honest enough to agree with Celticchris that the latters tactical mishaps had helped his side land the double.

The most impressive win in the division came when Crystal Palace defeated AS Roma 3-0. Nick Carle set Palace on their way with an early poached effort in the area. Paul Ifill doubled the lead shortly after half-time before Carle put the gloss on the scoreline late in the day. The mutual appreciation between the managers was clear to see as Cathal admitted he "blew it" before adding his congratulations. Markie was over the moon with his victory and with, in his words, "finally beating Cathal".

EASTHAM FC leapfrogged Glasgow Rangers courtesy of their 5-0 victory over them at THE OVAL. An own goal began the scoring as the unfortunate Sabahattin Sabanoglu put through his own net. An Elton Barkworth double plus goals from Rex Victory and Terence Sutherland ensured an easy day for the hosts.

In a tight defensive match-up Doncaster Rovers picked up another priceless point as they attempt to move from the foot of the table with a 0-0 draw at 23rd Professionals. Xpertelevener will see this as a point gained away from home as surely his side's home form will determine their status for next season.
