Amateurs Defeat Professionals

Danlufc13 picked up his first Manager of the Round of the season as his side maintained their good form to increase talk around the club that the title might still be a possibility. Hans Riegler produced a regal midfield performance to set up all three goals in a comprehensive win over 23rd Professionals. Gabriel Mohan headed in the first and a second-half double from Julian Partridge completed the scoring for the home side. Jeremiah McNally had briefly equalised for the Pros but they were clearly inferior to their hosts. Two serious looking injuries, one for each side, dampened the atmosphere inside the ground as the season reaches its climax. Dan was in confident mood going into his side's must win clash with Totaalvoetbal, "We've ended one unbeaten run by beating ThunderCats F.C earlier this year and now we want to end another."

Totaal themselves suffered a disappointing evening as they were held by basement side Doncaster Rovers. In a tight and competitive game it was the usually reliable Pierre van Diemen who fluffed his lines, spectacularly missing a penalty to blow his side's chances. While the point does little in aiding Doncaster's efforts to avoid the drop it will surely provide a morale boost going into the final few games.

ThunderCats stormed back to the top of the table thanks to a stunning midfield display by Nelson Queimado. Leonardo Borja and Lourenco Manjerona scoring good goals but playing second fiddle to a brilliant hat-trick. It was the latest in a long line of great performances from the young captain who will surely go onto being one of the all-time greats at the club.

Two young sides clashed at the strangely named Estadio El Madrigal. Home side AS Roma securing a dramatic point after a 91st minute equaliser from Stanko Marincic. Hun Haters had taken an early lead through Don MacArthur but a red card to Ted Caird gave the initiative away and allowed Roma a way back into the game. Hun remain in a good position though just one point behind the top two.

Crystal Palace had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to EASTHAM FC as they tried desperately to force their way back into the title mix-up. Shefki Kuqi had given them the lead but a heartbreaking 94th minute free-kick by Elton Barkworth gave EASTHAM just reward for their attacking endeavour. Markie was quick to say, "No chance now, needed to win tonight" but with big games still to come there's every chance of more twists and turns in the title race.
