Unfinished Business

Gooners today stand on the brink of success after playing some very admireable football this season, ever since coach FMR walked through the doors at Highbury they have looked a completely reborn side. In reality the coach only brought in one player and is yet to sell any single player but has managed to take an under performing group of players and turn them into something quite frightening... a powerful team unit! If you look through the stats this season and compare them to seasons gone by its easy to see the players are giving their all for FMR and this rookie charismatic coach, has become a hero with both the players and supporters and will surely now be written into the Gooners history books as a legend.

Alot of Gooners success this season can be contributed to the tactical know how they have shown all season and the players astounding ability to adapt their style of play successfully to each formation they have played and played against. Then there is a defensive record many a team will only dream of, except for two matches. One where a defender was sent off and another where the reserve keeper was still finding his way, they have been unbreakable. Which is quite a feat in itself as the defense was quickly thrown together at the beginning of the season having never played together before with little or no team work values.

Today is the last game of the season for Gooners and sadly for some of their players, which have already been informed they are being transfer listed shortly. Although for those that dont make todays lineup there will be a testemonial game versus White Hawk FC where the fans can say goodbye to all the players properly and the turn will be massive as tickets sold out one day after they went on sale. These are true Gooners legends and will get the send offs they deserve.

Coach FMR was quoted as saying "its not a decision we have made lightly and i wish we could keep them until retirement but our budget wont allow such a large squad and the players have been very understanding". "Best case scenario is teams from this league will make offers for them, allowing them to reamin in this fantastic setup and not be forgottern, these are fantastic players and have proved to be invalueable but we must already start preparation for Division one and RMI Premier, if we are to reach the targets this side is deserving of". The club never shys away from declaring its intentions and the fans do expect... for example Gooners made promotion sometime ago but this has never even been mentioned as it was expected and no celebrations would even be considered unless they take the silverware, so Gooners fans must be praying there are no acts of god today!

Today Gooners face 1863 Munich at home, Munich is showing poor form and Gooners are clear favourites according to the bookies/Pools but this is football and FMR is aware anything can and does happen from time to time and they wont want to find themselves in a simular situation to Dream Team just last round. Ideally FMR said i would have played a 4-5-1 matching Munich and over power them but there are some players that need this game to complete their seasons, also we havent given up on highest scoring team or striker. Hence i must take a risk and put my trust in my squad and id rather sacrafice the title over my never say never attitude or my players futures. We have the home fans support and hopefully they will prove to be the twelth man on the field and as said before our fans deserve to have this celebration today right here at Highbury... where they have been a massive part of our success.

There is also some unfinished business from earlier in the season for Gooners striker Ian Wright who has struggled to maintain his form/experience and place in the team due to an almost career ending injury caused by sloppy play on Munichs part. Although he has now found amazing form and produced more goals per game this season than any before, he will still have unfinished business with Munich and will want to close that chapter of his career in style. His Gooners future is still up in the air and a good performance wont harm his chances of retiring at the club he loves and sticking with the fans he is so loved by. This should be todays game to watch in division three and although many of the fringe player are set to play the manager has promised to line them up alongside Bergkamp, Lang and Henry in an attacking formation and will not just settle for the draw or 1 - 0 win. With so much to gain and yet so much to lose lets hope they have learnt their leson from the Dream Team saga and take the cup they sorely deserve and carry the unstoppable momentum into division two!
