Rob Doing Just Fab

Robin Meeblind met with press today to speak about ongoing transfer business as Totaalvoetbal look to build a side capable of challenging for the title again.

‘On the face of it we have had a quiet off-season so far but I can assure our fans that’s not been the case,’ began the manager.

‘We have finished one piece of business with the capture of Ramiro Verona, had countless offers turned down by differing managers, and continue negotiations with others. Add to that the sale of Heitinga and the agreed deal for Shuttlewood you have the recipe for a hectic few days.’

Meeblind was then pressed about Fabrizio Colluato:

‘He’s a very good player. Did we tap up the player? Absolutely not. We went to the manager and Darren knows this very well. If the said player got excited about the speculation linking him to Totaal who can blame him?

‘The truth of the matter is that Darren cannot deal directly with other clubs in the league anyway so it’s a no-go. Judging by the price he has put on his head he also won’t be going anywhere and we respect that.’

Moving away from transfer business the coach also added a final note about today’s cup clash:

‘We’ve had a reprieve to be fair. We were soundly beaten the other day and have been rewarded with a home tie in the first round. It’s not a major priority but wouldn’t it be funny if we went on and won it??’
