Patrik's Boys Club Milan

Kensington Boys Club bounced back to life with a 4-2 away win at Milan. Despite this it would be Milan who would have the first effort with Jonte Sandholm forcing a fine save out of Timmy Lorentzen following an excellent volley. KBC were soon into their stride, though, and Samson Lockwood was unfortunate to see his header come back off the angle. Niles Worthington curled an effort over the bar as they looked to increase the pressure and they would take the lead when Maurice Jacobs powered in a shot from distance. They held this lead into the second-half but Ricardo Kaka lobbed a headed equaliser for Milan on 50 minutes. Kensington were soon back on the front foot with a breakaway goal by Aubrey de Vere who then followed with a brilliant strike from distance to make it 3-1. The forward would then complete an exceptional hat-trick with a curled effort from distance to put the game beyond Milan. A free-kick by Vittorio Cornacchini smashed into the bar as the hosts did try to respond but Dorian Lonsdale fired in a shot at the other end to keep the home side on their toes. Milan did manage a consolation with a long range shot from Sandholm on 88 minutes but it would be KBC who would push for a late goal; de Vere again proving the thorn in their side with a shot on goal which nearly made it 5-2. Patrik was relieved to pick up a win but added ‘until we can get some consistency, (he is) a troubled lad.’ Xmensch’s Milan are struggling for results at the moment but the coach has admitted he has ‘some squad problems’ and you can expect to see them solved in the coming weeks.

Pahang kept themselves ahead of the pack with a 3-2 home success over Real Madrid. An early shot by Ray Eastwood gave them a 1-0 lead in a game full of chances. Indeed, Mao Wannasathit equalised for the visitors with a powerful shot from distance on seven minutes. Samvel Mortanian headed straight at Hussain for the visitors while Kilian Strongbow’s free-kick proved no bother at the other end as both sides pressed. Pahang did regain the lead on 35 minutes as a diving header by Eastwood proved too good for Nersesian. The ‘keeper did save from Jeremias Lindeman, though, to keep his side just a goal behind at the break. Pahang opened the second-half with a header from Strongbow which was saved before making it 3-1 courtesy of a penalty by Romeo Hogg. Another chance fell the home side’s way but Nersesian denied Hogg and Madrid tried to fight back. Mortanian produced a lob of rare quality but it went just over before Wannasathit headed against a post. Madrid did manage a second goal as Aren Garabedian chipped in from inside the area but time ran out on a comeback and Pahang emerged victorious once again. MrT’s side have now won four from four and they will be hopeful of keeping their run going as they travel to AJ Rovers on Friday. Madrid found themselves on the wrong end of a tight score once again but will be hopeful of a change of luck soon.

F.C. Greatness are Pahang’s closest challengers after they outclassed PSV Eindhoven 3-0 at Cedar Road. PSV did have the opening chance but Frans Haggbring put his lob over and it was one-way traffic from that point on. Faust Baronchelli put a chip against the bar before hitting a free-kick straight at Reina as the chances started to flow. Alvaro Recoba headed too close to Reina and another Baronchelli free-kick was gathered by the ‘keeper as the score remained goalless at the interval. Baronchelli did have another free-kick opportunity at the start of the second-half but fired well-wide. Greatness did take the lead, though, as Martinus Benfari lobbed over Reina following a rapid breakaway. Agostino Filippinetti headed in the second on 79 minutes and Angelo Foggia drove home the third on 83 minutes to put a more realistic look to the score-line. Calvert will be pleased with his side’s scoring form and will look to take that on the road with them as they visit KBC on Friday. Kadri found his side edged out by the class and age difference but his side are sure to bounce back as they have in the past.

Yorkshires Amateurs remained unbeaten but had to settle for a point following a 0-0 draw at Villarreal. The Amateurs started strongly with Pedar Hasselstrom heading over before Amadeo Caviedes had a goal disallowed for a doubtful offside. Gerard McMahon headed too close to Abrey before the home side finally began to fight back. Errol Beddoe could only shoot at Bicanco, though, and the Amateurs might have been in front as Antony Wallwork put a header against the bar. Wallwork had another headed chance minutes later but put it just over the bar while Caviedes missed with a shot from a tight angle. The second-half proved in direct contrast to the first as Villarreal did all the pressing. Claudio Moura hit a shot high over the goal while Beddoe headed against a post as the home side threatened the breakthrough. Another header, this time by Richard van Mosen, went close but both sides had to be content with a stalemate. Danlufc13 bemoaned his side’s disallowed goal but was positive that his side ‘remained unbeaten.’ Cathal admitted that his focus had been elsewhere recently with fans hoping he can bring his attention back to the struggling side soon before they become embroiled in a relegation battle that would be unthinkable for a club of their stature.

Bonkers continued to improve on their shaky start and defeated White Hawk 2-1 in their latest outing. Stefan Beelenkamp headed in the opening goal on five minutes and Philip Calderwood might have made it 2-0 but Dankoi was the equal to his shot. There was nothing the ‘keeper could do about Edip Bayrak’s powerful strike on 22 minutes, though, as Bonkers did increase their lead. However, White Hawk fought back quickly with Ryan Dharmsingh looping a header over Hawke to reduce the deficit. A free-kick by Beelenkamp never really threatened the goal and it would remain 2-1 at the break. Hawk improved after the break and Adan Donahue went close as his header brushed a post. Donahue then put a volley well-wide and Glenn Rjssel put a header over as Hawk wasted their chances. Beelenkamp unfortunately hit the bar with a header for Bonkers while Dharmsingh wasted a late headed chance as no further goals were added. Bonkers News explained that the ‘older experience of the squad’ helped them to victory and that their goal this season was ‘promotion.’ Hooraymee’s side remain in mid-table and if their strike-force can start to fire a season pushing for promotion might be in the offing.

One side that are in the thick of things at the right end of the table are Hicktown Hillbillies after a 1-0 win over AJ Rovers put them in third. The Hillbillies controlled what was a tight game and created the only two chances of the contest. Billy Bob side-footed in the goal on three minutes and this enabled them to play the match on their terms. Another chance fell to Bob in the second-half but Mortimer made a flash save and the game ended 1-0 to Hicktown. Gary_C called the win ‘very boring’ but won’t be too concerned so long as his side keep picking up the points. Rothion will need his side to become more creative if they are to move up the table but the talented managed is sure to find a solution at some point.
