decent start

Futsal FC 1 Splott Rovers 1 - The first game of the season was a rusty performance against a well drilled Futsal team. We created 5 chances to their 2 but could only put 1 of them away so had to settle for an away point. In fact it looked like Futsal were going to get the win until P-P Ravage popped up in the 86th minute to finish a breakaway move.

Splott Rovers 2 Los Samgeles Kings 1 - This was a much better performance and a hard fought win was earned against a stubborn LSK team who set out to defend but matched us for chances with 3 a piece. They may well feel hard done by to go away with nothing. Frank Punisher got things going in style with a long range shot in the first 5 minutes but LSK were soon level through Anze Kopitar. That man P-P came up trumps again after another breakaway in the 2nd half.

Carbonmonoxide said after the match - 4 points is a good start. We haven't performed well but have shown character to rescue a point against Futsal and then get the 3 points at home against LSK. We aren't blowing teams away but we were always going to be a bit stale given the lack of recent match practice. Ravage is in great goalscoring form at the moment and I'm hoping Eddie Venom can get his season going next game against These Charming Men. Their partnership is working well and with the midfielders chipping in with a few goals here and there we should be ok. The defence needs to raise its game but I'm not to worried about that as long as we keep picking up points. There is better to come.
