Morley Glory for Town

Morley Town made it two wins from two with a 4-1 home victory over Glory Hornets. They started strongly and saw an early free-kick by Adolf Munzberg saved by Blacksmith. The Hornets did respond as Toma Popadic brushed the post with a shot but Gwilym Cullip gave the hosts the lead with a long range strike. A header by Mitchell Pennock needed saving before Popadic hit back for the visitors with a shot from a corner to make it 1-1. Popadic hit another effort wide before Zacharias Ashe shot wide and Art Boyle missed the target as Morley finished the half on the attack. The Hornets had the first chance of the second-half as Raphael Dearden hit the post with a header but it was all Morley from that point on. A Boyle shot was easily saved by Blacksmith but the ‘keeper then suffered an injury and they never recovered. Florian Arnautu headed home from a cross for 2-1 on 57 minutes before Ashe chipped over Rosbotham for 3-1 on 74. Morley were now dominant and Ashe toe-poked home his second with time running out. Arnautu saw Rosbotham deny him as he tried to round the ‘keeper but it wasn’t to matter as Morley held on for a comfortable victory. Leeg21 will have been pleased after warning ‘his team against complacency’ after their opening day win. GregPerkins has plenty of work to do after seeing his side lose their opening two games but with the season in its infancy there is plenty of time to turn things round.

Dream Team kept pace with Morley as they enjoyed the best of a high-scoring encounter at Alsancak. It would be the hosts who would score first as Fraizer Campbell thumped in a shot in the first minute but the lead would be short-lived with Kris Krafty doing likewise from distance on three minutes. Dream Team would then see Ronaldo Ready miss from a free-kick before Luke Light also wasted a volley minutes later. Alsancak saw Fabrice Muamba be denied by Delirious through a fine save before Ready missed another set-piece at the other end. Garry Gain would give DT the lead as he placed his shot through the legs of Frost and it would be 3-1 as he hit home from distance a minute later. Gain completed a remarkable treble with a super lob on 37 minutes to put DT 4-1 up and fully in control. Alsancak did pull a goal back through a Muamba header before Gabriel Baldwin nearly pulled another back just before the break. The second-half saw more chances as Dudley Dream made it 5-2 with a long range strike on 57 minutes. Gain was to add his fourth of the game as he rounded the ‘keeper to make it 6-2 and worse might have followed for the hosts but Warren Wish put his header over the bar. Campbell did pull a goal back for the hosts as he shot home in the area but it proved scant consolation in a tough evening for Alsancak. MrJames proclaimed that the ‘season looks promising’ after a strong opening. Meanwhile, it looks like another season of learning for Wienersnitzel’s Alsancak side.

The other side with a 100% record are wortley following a 6-1 away success at EspAda. Paulinho Santos had a header saved by Kerrigan before the hosts responded with a Norman Cederhag free-kick which struck a post. Another Cederhag effort was saved by Gareth before Walter Willock thumped the wood at the other end. Brandon Hiller did give wortley the lead with a fine header on 22 minutes and EspAda paid the price for not naming subs as Daniel Brewster was injured. Nevertheless Cederhag did level matters with a clinical strike in the area to ensure that the match would be level at the break. Hiller restored the visitor’s lead with a diving header on 58 minutes and wortley were in dreamland as Hiller completed his hat-trick by rounding off a swift breakaway on 68 minutes. It was 4-1 as Quincy Bowey toe-poked into the net and Hiller nearly made it 5-1 with a fine header. Cederhag continued to try his best for EspAda but missed the target with a volley before Bowey miss-hit the fifth home at the other end. Willock got his goal with a calm side-footed finish on 80 minutes and although Rai Kike had an effort easily saved wortley emerged comfortable winners. With two wins from two, Thegreatlordbags will be hoping that this is the season his side emerge from the bottom division. Lone_totti has resigned since the defeat and it will be leftto the new manager to get his side back on track in the coming weeks otherwise they could be in for a long season.

FCR Cressex emerged victorious against Jammas AllStars by the odd goal in five after a cracker at Cressex Astro. They started strongly but Dan-Ake Rothflod’s header missed the target as did Augusto Ferrazzoli’s effort. A free-kick on the half-hour did see them take the lead as Lauro Poggi found the net while a flick header by Tomas Tiribocchi made it 2-0 minutes later. The Allstars did respond but Jake Ash was denied by Stoker and they went in two behind. Clyde Henderson shot straight at the ‘keeper before heading against the post as the visitors also started the second-half strongly. Ash did force Sherwood into a save and the ‘keeper also denied Tiribocchi as the game opened up. The AllStars did get a route back into the game as Tryggvi Valsson headed into his own goal on 80 minutes to halve the deficit. Henderson quickly levelled matters with a strike of quality following a corner. Ash narrowly avoided an own goal before Samson Moon missed by inches from a free-kick. Unfortunately for them, though, Rothflod curled home a powerful effort on 94 minutes to break their hearts and give Cressex three points. Villan_RAS will be delighted with his side’s unbeaten start to the season and also the character his side showed in responding late in the game. Jamma will be disappointed his side lost the game late on but there will be plenty of positives for the manager to work on as he looks to mould his side the way he wants.

Rolling Thunder won their first game as they won 5-0 at Norfolk. Yiannis Koutsis headed in from a corner on 11 minutes to put them 1-0 up and this would be a lead they would hold until half-time. The second-half saw them open up and a Marcel Holub shot nearly made it 2-0 on 49 minutes. The second goal did arrive as Francis Rouland headed in two minutes later before Bojan Krkic lobbed against the bar. Holub volleyed in for 3-0 on 67 minutes while Rouland placed the ball beyond Olausson for 4-0 on 73 minutes. The win was capped on 90 minutes as Krkick thumped in the fifth to the delight of the travelling fans. Jimmy was pleased and declared that his side ‘played really well’ before adding that he hopes they ‘can carry this through to the next match.’ Howemiester continues to develop his youngsters so he won’t be pushing the panic button just yet after opening up with two defeats.

Mighty Mojos drew 1-1 with Tir Eoghain in the division’s other match. The visitors saw Jim Hotte go close early on before Terrance Norman lobbed a header over at the other end. Broderick Shilton headed off-target for Eoghain before Harold Hankers put his header over as the chances continued to arrive. Hotte saw another header saved before Michel Montolio shot home following a corner for the Mojos. Alan Shearer thought he had equalised but saw his effort chalked off for offside before Norman headed over for the home side. The second-half began well for the visitors but Shilton’s lob hit the bar before Montolio demanded a fine save from Raberg as the hosts looked to make it 2-0. Shilton saw another header saved as Eoghain looked to make it 1-1 and the forward would eventually get his reward as he poked past Housham with the last chance of the game. SpikyJamie will be disappointed with the late goal against his side but will take heart from his side’s unbeaten start to the season. Meanwhile Tyroneabu has his side sitting pretty on four points and will look to maintain their run on Friday when they meet the league leaders in Morley.
