Creditable Draw

Kirkbride Strollers managed their first away point of the season with a 1-1 draw away at Manchester United. The game was a close hard fought affair with UItd grabbing an early lead only to be pegged back by a Mark Blacklock header, though with the Strollers keeper Ted Hill claiming the mom award it may well have been a lucky result.

Strollers manager jazza1958 decided to throw youngster Noel Rumney into the match despite him only joining the senior squad 24 hours earlier. This decision came to be a mistakie with young rumney only lasting 15 minutes before having to come off injured. young Rumneys future looks to be away from the club with him being put onto the transfer list.

Manager jazza1958 said "Rumney is without doubt a great young player and will go onto have a great future but club funds are tight and his future could well lie elsewhere. As for the match, we wanted a point from the match and we got one but I feel we had enough chances to win the game"
