For West Brom Strollers fans the dream has become reality, they have been confirmed as Champions of division 1 after a hard fought victory over PSV.
The win came about thanks to a stunning free kick from Bryan Robson then a real poachers goal by Bobby Taylor.
WBS started the day needing just a point to confirm their status as champions, but set out with intention to take all 3 playing a three pronged attack. The gamble paid off.
On the final whistle, hoards of the 5000 strong travelling fans poured onto the pitch to celebrate with their players.
Dinkydave was found in the dressing room "It's a great day for the club, we'd already achieved promotion, which was the main aim but we really wanted the title so i'm chuffed to bits. We've been on a bit of a hiding to nothing this season, we were obviously one of the favourites for promotion so we were always in a no win situation, but we just kept doing what we had to. During the course of the season i'd like to think we've changed the mindset of those people. The defence were immense again today and Robbo and Superbob were just awesome. I also want to say a massive well done to Jimmy and Izu an their promotions, i cant wait to renew the rivalries next season"
The WBS side again featured youngsters Igor Balis (16) and Jeff Astle (17) Dinky was full of praise for his fledglings "Igor and Jeff are the future of this club, the legends of the future. They've been given a chance and taken it with both hands, i'm really proud of them, they're going to massive at this club"
Strollers last match is an away against Pahang who's division 1 status hangs on a knife edge. Dinky told us "i'd love Pahang to stay up, but i need to be fair to everybody in this league, i'll play a team that i think can win the match"
